Im still alive...

I cant believe I haven't posted in so long! Things have been pretty busy around here and when I'm not busy I just haven't felt like taking the time out to write a post.

The baby shower went VERY well! I pretty much got all that I needed and then some! There were so many people here! I am so very thankful for the family and friends that I have been blessed with. Thanks to each and every one of you for all that you have done. It is all greatly appreciated.

I went to the doctor today. 2 centimeters dilated and 50% effaced. Nothing much different then last week. I had gotten my hopes up and was expecting better news I guess. I came straight home from the doctor (after stoppin in to see my mom at work of course) and pouted. I'm just so tired and was under the impression that my baby girl was gonna come a little bit early (not too early of course) but I'm almost thinking it may be the complete opposite now! I wouldn't be surprised if she stayed in there AT LEAST another 2 weeks. Bummer.

I have been nesting... my husband called me out on it the other day. I made a list of things to have accomplished before Ava gets here (which I have already done in an earlier post) and have been tackling that list as often as possible. I have found that I seem to have all the energy in the world in the morning and push myself getting things done and by mid-day I am ready for a much needed nap! I guess I still tend to forget that although I may have some energy, I still can not do the things I used to do seeing as I'm 9 1/2 months pregnant! DUH ASHLEY!

Moving on.

Katie and I had a girls day yesterday which was nice. We went and got pedicures and had lunch together. She's a great person and I'm thankful for meeting her and all the new mommy friends.
Katie's baby shower is on Sunday and her birthday is on Thursday. Jennifer's birthday dinner is Friday night and her and Amber's birthdays are on Monday. Then I have Jeannie's baby shower the following Saturday. It's going to be another busy week but I'm glad for that. Makes the time move a bit faster.

This Saturday was our neighbors little girls (Megan) 1st birthday party. Everything was done in pink polka dots. It was so cute! Then I had Brandon's first birthday party on Sunday at Mandy's parents house. That was fun, I was able to see all the mommy girls as well and meet some of the husbands that I hadn't yet met. Poor Brandon was worn out by the time I left and I wasn't even able to stay for the cake.

Let's see, what else..

I think Ill wrap things up now.
I apologize again for the lack of posting (thanks for checkin in on me Cloggsy!)
Ill try to do a little better this week.
Take Care Loves.

He Has My Heart

Today makes one year since the day I first met Michael in person. He sent me a friend request on Myspace a little over 2 years ago and we began talking pretty regularly. He invited me to a couple of his parties (superbowl, etc) but I never would attend because I was pretty unsure about meeting somebody off of the internet. After about a year, I finally told him where I worked as a waitress and left it up to him to come see me if he chose too. So the day after Valentines Day last year he, his sister Trisha and his friend Kathie all came up to the resaurant where I worked to eat. I remember walking up to the table to take thier drink order and seeing Michael. I was pretty sure that it was him, but didnt want to say anything incase I was wrong. They stayed for a while and had a few beers and I chatted with them when I wasnt tending to other customers. He left me a really good tip that night too! LOL The next night, my friend Jessica and I went over to his apartment and hung out with them for a little while. We have pretty much been inseperable ever since. Michael really turned my life around and showed me what its like to truly love someone. Im thankful everyday to have been blessed with him.

In other news... Valentines Day was good. Of course it would have been even better if Michael was able to be here with me, but he made it up to me earlier in the week :) I met Kim (my dads girlfriend) for lunch which was nice. My Aunt Tami came by and brought her puppy Lily with her. Cookie LOVES playing with Lily and was completely exhausted once they finally left. Aunt Tami and I ordered some Chinese food and hung out for a while. My mom also stopped by and dropped off Valentines for Tyler, Elise, Michael and I as well as a really pretty flower plant from her boss Dale. That was sweet!

Today was Mommy Club of course! It was fun as always. I cant wait for Ava to be here and join in with us :)

Tomorrow is my baby shower!!! YA! Im excited!!!

Anyhow, Im pretty exhausted tonight and am def. ready to relax!
Goodnight Loves

P.S.- Michael: Happy "Anniversary" my love.

No More Bed Rest!!!

It's amazing how much your own physical appearance can have an affect on how you feel. These last couple of days I have stayed in my jammies, with my hair thrown in a ponytail and absolutely no make up on. Just laying around.

So waking up this morning, straightening my hair, doing my makeup and actually changing out of my jammies definitely made a difference! Of course I didnt have much of a choice, seeing as I had a doctors appointment this morning at 10 am. But I did feel much more motivated today! Maybe that also had a little to do with the good news I got from my doctor.

She told me that I no longer have to take the Albuterol (ya!) and that, as of tomorrow, I can come off bed rest since I will be 36 weeks. She then checked my cervix and told me that I was dilated a good centimeter and was 50% effaced. After this, she asked that I still try and take it easy this week so as to try and avoid labor for at least one more week. If/when I do go into labor, they will not be stopping it but she would rather I make it to 37 weeks to ensure that Ava will not have to go to the NIC-U. She also said that she was faxing over all of my paper work and blood work to the hospital so that when I do go into labor, they wont have to re-do all of that and charge me for it. So that's good.

My hubby is coming home on Friday and will be staying home with me after that! YA! (except for a job here and there for a day or two which is fine with me, so long as it isnt all the time and not for an extended amount of time) So that of course makes me happy! Mommy Club will be held at my house again this Friday and that makes me happy too! I'm curious to see how many people we have this week. :)

AND THEN... my babyshower is on Saturday!!! YA!!

ARG! I cant believe it's after midnight! The maid is coming at 8am tomorrow so I should probably be getting to bed or morning is gonna come pretty quickly. *The maid has come one time since we have lived in this house and is only coming tomorrow because we are having lots of people over for the baby shower on Sat. So hush! ;-)

Good Night Loves.
Hope you all have a Happy Valentines Day!

Why So Blue?

It hasnt been the greatest day, by far. I have been in my pajamas the last 2 days, no make up, hair thrown up, laying around, doing not much of anything. So that's a bit depressing in itself. Not to mention the family issues that are going on right now between 2 people. And it has absolutely nothing to do with me, but is upsetting me like I am part of the situation. Ugh.

The weather has been gross, and I can't leave the house because Im supposed to be on bedrest and was out quite a bit this weekend between the family portraits and all. I think I just may have to run out and grab myself something to eat this evening. We dont have much here to eat without cooking a full meal and Im not about to do that for just myself. I think I need to get out of the house a little anyway. Maybe Ill drive over to see my mom. Probably not though... although I wanna get out, I also dont feel like doing anything. Im just pretty blah right now.

Ava is getting really big and it almost seems as though she is growing, but my belly isnt! My stomache isn't even round anymore because she is bulging out all over the place. Her feet shoved up into my rib-cage doesnt feel so hot either. Im just ready for this pregnancy to be over with and for my husband to be back home again.

What a crummy, blah day.
Maybe Ill just go to sleep.
I dont know.

"How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count The Ways"

I got a lovely surprise this afternoon. I had just come in from taking Cookie out and was about to make myself a sandwhich when there was a knock at the door. I opened it to see my husband standing there with a huge, beautiful bouquet of pink flowers and white roses, a balloon and a card. For those of you who dont already know... Michael left town on Sunday afternoon for Corpus Christi (as he has been doing the last 3 months) and wasn't to return until Friday. So as I said before, this was a huge surprise! He had to come into town to pick up a boom truck and take it back to Corpus but before doing that, he spent about an hour with me first. We watched a little TV, ate some lunch and baked some cookies. :) It was wonderful! It has definitely been hard with him being gone so much these last 3 months but it's times like these that really show me just how much he cares about me. I am so very blessed to have him in my life and so thankful for everything he has done for me. He has shown me a kind of love like I have never experienced before. Him, Tyler, Elise and Ava are my family and I love that. I love each and every one of them with my whole heart. I love my life, our life and wouldnt have it any other way. Thank you baby.

My Card Said This:

"We don't always have
as much time together as we'd like,
but there are many times every day
when my thoughts turn to you.
I don't always take the time
to tell you how much I love you,
but I hope you know
how very much I do.

Happy Valentines Day

To my gorgeous wife that is about to give me the greatest gift anyone could receive, our daughter Ava! I Love You Pumpkin! -Mike

Our Weekend

Im post happy tonight!!! :)

Mommy Club ended around 6pm on Friday and shortly after, Dina (Tylers grandmother) showed up to drop off Tyler and his friend Mike, who was staying the night. My baby showed up around 7-ish and I was definitely happy to see him, although I was exhausted as was Mike. We went to bed fairly early (@ 9:30) which was nice. I always love having my baby home with me on the weekends and em ecstatic that this is his last week out of town! It'll be great to have him home again. Saturday morning Michael picked Elise up at 10am. Then it was time to get everyone ready for our pictures at Sears. Elise was wearing pink shoes which would not have looked good in the photos, as we all wore black shoes. On top of this, the white button down shirt that I thought was Mike's turned out to be my brothers and the sleeves were too short on him. So we left for Sears a little early so that we could get Michael a shirt and Elise a pair of black shoes/socks. Then it was picture time! I think they all turned out pretty good. After taking the photos we then had to go over them and decided which ones we wanted and so on. All in all, it took about 2 hours which by then we were all pretty hungry. We went to Lubys and waited in an extremely long line. We were then so full that we were miserable. We came home and Elise played with her play-dough while I laid down on the couch for a bit. It was too long before it was time to take Elise home. I rode with Michael and we then went by his sister Tracy's house to visit with her, Bob and the girls. Needless to say, by the time we got home that evening I was EXTREMELY exhausted. My doctor probably wouldnt have been too happy with me if she were to know all of the running around I did! Last night when Michael and I went to bed, I started massaging his back right below his shoulder blade and much to my suprise he was ticklish!!! It was SO funny! I kept doing it over and over and then he would tickle me back and so on. I just thought it was fun to lay in bed a giggle with my husband. I love moments like that :) Today we pretty much just hung around the house and Michael left around 3 for Corpus Christi. All the running around this weekend definately caught up with me today. I have been laying around on the couch since Michael left. My whole body is achy and Im really tired! But it was a good weekend, none-the-less.

I Love Mommy Club

Mommy Club met at my house again this Friday due to the fact that I am still on bedrest and shouldnt really be leaving the house. I think it's really sweet of them all to come over so that I can be included. They are all such great people and I am very thankful to have met each and every one of them. I really look forward to building up a lot of new friendships with my mommy friends.
Everyone met at my house around 3:30-ish and I was SO suprised to see how many mommies we had this week! I was not expecting that many people at all and was so happy to have each and every one of them over! I had a really good time just hanging out and chit chatting with everyone. Unfortunately, Katie was not able to make it this Friday and we definately missed the heck outta her. We'll be glad to have her back next time :)
Christina and Zolan were also here for Mommy Club which was cool. I hope they continue to come as well. We got a group photo but keep in mind that we are missing a few people, including Katie and Christina. It's nice to have Mommy Club to look forward to every week. I love it and am so glad that I was invited into the group with open arms. I feel like I have known some of these girls forever, they have made me feel so welcome. Thank you to all of you! Love ya'll!!!!

We missed you Katie!

Baby Shower Invites

I sent out almost all of the baby shower invitations this past week except for a few that I hadn't yet received addresses for. My mom called me with the rest of the addresses yesterday so I will be sending the last few out tomorrow. Below is a picture of the invitations I chose. I also bought the little pink footprint stickers to seal the envelopes with. I think they are really cute!

I must say that I have really taken advantage of the whole "bed rest" thing the last couple days. Especially yesterday, aside from my doctors appointment that is. I layed around so much yesterday that it actually gave me a headache and made me a bit cranky.

Christina and Zolan left tonight. She is staying with her mom now. It was nice having them here for a few days and Christina helped me out as well. She is coming over for Mommy Club tomorrow but said she will be coming over a little early to help me clean up a bit. The house is pretty clean but needs a quick vacuum. And the kitchen needs to be swept and mopped. So she's gonna do that for me tomorrow. Thanks Christina!

I'm happy that Michael is coming home tomorrow! :) I miss him lots! After this weekend he will only be in Corpus for next week and then he'll be working close to home again! That makes me happy.

Moving on. I took a picture of the 3 little onesies I bought a week or so ago. These are the ones I am taking to the hospital, along with her "Going Home Outfit" which I do not have a picture of. The one I got her is a newborn outfit and SO freakin cute, but mom and I got to lookin at it and its going to be way too big for her. Mom says she is going to pick up a premie "take home outfit" for Ava. So as soon as we get one, Ill def have pics of it :)

Goodnight Lovelies.

35 weeks and counting!!!

I had a Dr. Appointment this morning, as I am going every week now. She told me that I am no longer dilated and that everything looks great! I was a little confused and asked her how I am no longer dilated when just 2 days ago at the hospital they told me I was 1cm. She said that it just means the baby has moved up a little and isnt resting on my cervix. YA! Unfortunately, I am still on bedrest but it isnt severe. She just doesnt want me over-doing it or running a whole lot of errands and such. I am to continue taking the Albuterol (which I have been doing religiously, every 6 hours, as directed) for 2 more weeks! After that, I will no longer be on the medication nor will I be on bedrest!!

Hooray Congratulaitons
IM SO EXCITED!!! Only 2 more weeks of this! It hasnt been too bad lately. Michael was here this weekend and of course wouldnt let me do anything! He cleaned and did laundry all weekend, as well as make my meals for me. :) He was such a sweetheart. He even warmed up my feet for me when I was cold. He left Sunday afternoon and Christina and Zolan got to my house Sunday night. So I really havent been by myself too much at all. Christina has been awsome with helping me keep the house picked up and she even picked up some strawberries and Tylers white button down shirt from Target for me :) I think she will be here for the next coupld of days and then Mommy Club is coming to my house again on Friday. Unfortunately we will not be getting Elise on Friday night like usual, but instead only on Saturday from 10am-5pm. Melanie thinks it'd be best with me being on bedrest. Although I dont agree, and I feel that Michael is very much capable of taking care of Elise, I am just grateful that we have Saturday with her. I would have been really upset if not, seeing as I have had our family pictures planned for some time now.
Next week will be Michaels last week in Corpus!! YA! :) We have the babyshower next Saturday and then that next Wednesday Ill be off bedrest! Man, it's getting so close! Im SO excited!
Well, I believe that's all for now! Take Care Sweets!!!

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Well, there isn't much going on here. Im running out of things to post about! LOL
Jennifer came over with lunch today on her lunch break. That was sweet of her. :)
Christina picked up a white button down shirt for Tyler from Target yesterday. So I have his clothes for the pictures on saturday. And Raina gave me a shirt for Elise. Now I just need to figure out what I am going to wear!
I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. And thats pretty much it.
Havent been getting much sleep at all! I feel like, if my stomache stretches anymore, it'll explode! My back aches likes never before.. But thats not anything new.

I did take a few pictures of Cookie today. She is 3 months and 5 days old! She's still tiny but has def grown since ive had her. Its getting hard to tend to her, but I have a new system going on. LOL I put up a child gate in the doorway of the laundry room and that is now where she stays. I have her crate in there as well, with her puppy bed in it and I just leave the door open so that she is able to go in and out as she pleases. I have a puppy pad down in the corner for her if she needs to potty before I am able to take her out. Which she has done really well with. If she does have to pee, she goes on the puppy pad and it isnt often. This has definately made things much easier! I of course have all of her toys in there with her as well. She didnt really like the change very much at first but has started getting used to it. Here are some of the pics I took of her today. :) Have a great night loves.

It almost looks like she's smiling in the one above. LOL

Everythings good...

My friend Christina just moved back to Texas and her and Zolan are staying at my house for a little while. I called my doctor this morning due to some water-like discharge which I was afraid that it might have been a leak in my amniotic sac (something like that?) She wanted me to go to Clear Lake Regional and get checked out just incase. So Christina took me up there this morning. All is well. No contractions, (which means the medicine is doing its job) no fluid is leaking and I am still only 1 cm dilated. I felt kind of stupid for even going in but with this being my first pregnancy Im not real sure what to expect and def don't want to take any chances. I was happy to hear that everything is OK! Still on bedrest, of course and I am still going in for my doctors appointment on Wednesday morning. Ava is still moving around like crazy! It almost seems as though she might just push her way through my stomach! LOL

Just a little update..

Google Calendar

I figured this is a much better way to keep track of my dates then just a simple list as I made before. :)
