Daddy

My dad has been having some problems with his pancreas the last couple of years. He has already had one surgery and due to some pains lately, he went in on Thursday for another surgery. I'm not really sure what the purpose of it was. But they went down his throat and into his stomach and made some cuts and so forth. He was in a lot of pain after the surgery but they decided to go ahead and send him home. The following day he had to be admitted back into the hospital. He was hunched over on his hands and knees yelling in pain. My dad is a pretty tough guy so this was pretty hard for everyone to see him in so much pain. On a scale of 1 to 10 he rated his pain at a 20. Poor daddy. He now has pancreatitis. The first night back at the hospital was pretty rough. He threw up non-stop and they ended up having to put a tube down his nose and into his stomach to pump everything out. He still has that in but they are hoping that by tomorrow they will be able to unhook it. He has been running a fever and just plain looks horrible. I feel so bad for him. They had to hook him up to a heart monitor to keep an eye on his heart rate b/c it got really high. His enzyme levels are supposed to be at about 200 and they were at 2,000. They also had to put a catheter in b/c he was so bloated that he wasn't able to use the bathroom. Katie and I went up to St. Luke's in the Medical Center to see him yesterday. He is on so much pain medicine that he was pretty much out of it. I hate to see him like that and I really just pray that he gets better soon. He got up and walked about 2 dozen steps or so today and his levels seems to be getting back to normal but he is still running a fever. Please keep him in your prayers. Love you Daddy.
