Just some random thoughts..

I have been on a cleaning/organizing craze for a while, off and on, and it is in full swing now! I guess with it being the new year and all, I am really wanting to get things done asap. On Christmas night, Michael, Tyler and I re-arranged his room (his request) and went through EVERYTHING of his, getting rid of things he no longer wants or clothes that no longer fit him. I mentioned before that I had cleaned Elise's room, drawers and closet out as well. We now have a towering pile of stuff in the entryway that needs to be taken to Goodwill.

Michael and I went grocery shopping and also made a trip to Sam's. We have been there once or twice before in search of one specific thing or another but haven't really done much shopping there until today. I am the kind of person that loves to stock up on stuff (you should see Michael's face when I am purchasing baby food! I buy LOTS at a time) so this was pretty neat for me considering that most everything at Sam's is in bulk. So it feels nice to have a full pantry, freezer and refrigerator. I am finally down to about 2 loads of laundry (which I plan on finishing tomorrow) so that's cool too.

I have purchased a few storage bins lately to pack away all of Ava and Elise's clothes that no longer fit them. I am saving most of Elise's stuff for Ava since she doesn't wear them much before she grows out of them and they are all still in really good shape. I finally gathered up Ava's stuff that she no longer uses (bassinet, play mats, swings.. etc) and put them in the attic.

I have been on an organizing frenzy lately too. The pantry is completely organized (has been for a while) and I have a spot for everything there, in the cabinets and the fridge/freezer. Michael doesn't even try to help put away groceries anymore because I go behind him and move everything where it is supposed to be.

I went to hobby lobby the other day and bought some wall decor for our entry way. I LOVE it! As I mentioned before, I want to redo lots of things around here and I would really like for things to MATCH! So regardless of the fact that I want to go out and do it all at once, I was happy to get one small thing down. I am pretty proud of the way that one wall looks. :)

My grandmother and aunt got me some scrapbooking stuff for Christmas so with that and the stuff I already have (I actually have quite a bit of scrapbooking stuff that I have gotten over the years since I was about 16) I think I am pretty much set to start Ava's book. I have made a few pages with digi scrapbooking and I like it, but I kind of think that doing it myself adds a sweet little touch to it. All I need to do now is get some of her pictures printed out so I actually have something to put in her scrapbook!

Michael and I were talking last night about some different things and I told him that I would really like to go back to school when we can afford it. I have always wanted to get my nursing degree and I am afraid that the longer I put it off, the less likely it is to actually happen. I could always get my LVN first and finish for RN later on. I am not sure what courses are available to take online and which ones aren't but I would prefer to do as many online as possible. That way Ava would not have to be placed in daycare and it is something I can do at home. Even if I just start off with one class at a time, at least I will be working towards achieving my goal. Hopefully this is something I can do soon.

Anyhow, Michael and I are enjoying some blackberries dipped in sugar (YUM) and I am certain that there are floors that need to be swept and mopped....

just a FYI - if you dont already know of course...if you go to hobbylobby.com they will email you a coupon every Sunday. Sometimes it's for 40% off any one item and sometimes it's only for certain items but they sure come in handy! That's my FAVORITE store! I made EVERYTHING for our wedding and spent many of hours there. Also, I say definitly go back to school if that's what you want to do! There's nothing like having reached your own goals!!
