Happy New Year!

Michael, Ava and I rang in the New Year with our lovely friends Andi, Larry and Chloe (as well as a bunch of their neighbors). It was pretty laid back, the kids played and we enjoyed a couple of drinks as well as a champagne toast at midnight. Ava actually managed to stay up the whole night with us. She wasn't even cranky or anything, but she sure did sleep until 10:30 the next morning! (ya, for us!) After we got home and put Ava to bed, Michael and I wrestled in bed and had a pillow fight with each other. I'm almost certain that I won. :) I love being silly with him.

"Hello there, friend"

All smiles

Cheers to 2009!

I am pretty sure that he was trying to eat my face. ;)

I have to admit that while 2007 had a few low points, it was a pretty great year for me. Having my daughter, looking into her eyes for the very first time and experiencing all of the new things of being a Mommy was absolutely perfect. Every time she reaches a new milestone, I am so very happy and sad at the same time. I know that each milestone that she reaches only means that she, indeed, is growing up a little more each day.

I have not ever been the type to really make New Year resolutions, so no resolution for this year either. I would love for Michael and I to try to quit smoking together and he agreed. Not sure we are quite ready yet, but I'm hoping we can both do this together soon!

Hoping for the best in 2009!

P.s.- I'll start off by saying, I never buy lottery tickets. Last night, out of the blue, I decided to buy (2) $1.00 lottery tickets while at the gas station. And guess what... I won $10.00, meaning that I made an $8.00 profit! Maybe I should buy lottery tickets more often!
